Governor Locke's adoption of a state law in 2003 making Washington the first state to make trafficking a state crime.

The Zonta Club of Olympia has awarded the following scholarships:
Amelia Earhart Fellowship Program for women pursuing a PhD/doctoral degree in the field of aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering.
Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship for young women entering public affairs or policy-making fields.
The Doris Drees Scholarship - for women returning to school at South Puget Sound Community College.
