Advocacy

The Zonta Club of Olympia advocated for:

• Governor Gregoire proclaiming November 25, 2007 the Day for Eliminating Violence Against Women in Washington State.

• Governor Locke's adoption of a state law in 2003 making Washington the first state to make trafficking a state crime.

• Zonta Club of Olympia Advocates for New Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Laws in WA

Education

The Zonta Club of Olympia has awarded the following scholarships:

• Amelia Earhart Fellowship Program for women pursuing a PhD/doctoral degree in the field of aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering.

• Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship for young women entering public affairs or policy-making fields.

• The Doris Drees Scholarship - for women returning to school at South Puget Sound Community College.
